Social Profiles

Everyday, employees gather and contribute information and activities for the benefit of their work, peers and the organization. Each employee brings their unique set of skills and experience to a task or project at hand. Combined, these make up the social capital of an organization. Spotlight Social Profiles capture this social capital, providing an intelligent way to discover expertise, and the ability to interact with coworkers.

Using Spotlight Social Profiles employees self-describe their areas of expertise, interests and projects. This information makes its way into the collective intelligence repository of Connectbeam Spotlight application, from where the information is served up to users in the organization through a variety of different ways. In addition, Social Profiles displays users recent activity, personalized and dynamic tag cloud and other social profile attributes.

Connectbeam Spotlight provides one of the most flexible and dynamic user profile features available on the market. It gives control to users on how and what pieces of information are displayed, and provides complete flexibility to Corporate IT and administrators to maintain a single place for user profiles and merge this information with the existing Corporate IT profile infrastructure.

Groups

Collaboration around projects and topics of interests is enabled via Spotlight Groups. These are are lightweight and versatile spaces to access, contribute, and share information at a group level. Employees create and join groups, add bookmarks and social workstreams, and interact with one another.

Each group has its own tag cloud showing the area of focus and user contribution.

Groups can be set up as open to everyone or restricted to invitation only. Through Spotlight’s enterprise-class security, users only see groups to which they have access rights.
